We, the members of Zo Christian Church, are refugees from Burma. The church was established on August 2, 2009, and we named it “Zo Christian Church” (ZCC). The name was chosen to invite Zo believers in the community to worship in our native language.
Our first service was held at a Methodist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with only 10 family members. As time passed, we began looking for a new place where we could freely worship the living God. We then came to First Christian Church, and they graciously opened their doors for us to worship.
By the grace of God, our church began to grow in 2010. As a result, we established a Sunday School ministry for children, where they could be taught the Word of God in our native language. That year, we had around 200 people in attendance.
We have also sent two missionaries back to Burma to share the Gospel among Muslim and Buddhist communities. By His grace, through prayer and patience, God granted us ownership of a church building that we do not deserve. In His providence, lovingkindness, and mercy, the Lord has given us a beautiful place where we can worship and glorify Him in our native language.
Zo Christian Church welcomes Christians and those who seek to understand Christianity in the Fort Wayne area. Our aim is to connect with others and encourage them to join us in a life-changing Christian journey. We are a friendly Christian community, and we welcome all who desire to worship and serve God with us. Our focus is on learning and understanding the Bible and following the example of Jesus and His followers.

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who is fully God and fully human. He entered human form by the conception of the Holy Spirit and was miraculously born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died to make atonement for the sins of all mankind, was resurrected, and is now the mediator at the right hand of the Father. He is the head of the church, which is His body. He will return in power and glory to take His church to heaven and his return is not far off. English
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity. We believe that the Holy Spirit was sent by the Father in Jesus’ name to teach and remind us of Christ’s words and convict us of sin. We believe that the Holy Spirit brings the new birth at the point of salvation, comes to live within believers, and permanently seals our salvation. We believe that the Holy Spirit gives the power to overcome temptation, defeat sin, produce righteousness, and provide unique gifts for each believer to use in building up the body and carrying out the church’s purpose. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all who are born again, conforming them to the likeness of Jesus Christ. (John 16:7-8, 12-15; Acts 9:31; Rom. 8:26; Eph. 1:13-14).

We believe that all people are created in the image of God. We believe that because of Adam’s sin, all people are sinful by nature and choice. We believe people, unless they have experienced forgiveness in Christ, are lost and alienated from God. (Gen. 1:27; Ps. 51:5; Jer. 2:22; Rom. 3:20-23; 1 Cor. 1:18; Heb. 2:3).

English
We believe salvation is the result of genuine repentance of sin and faith in the atoning work of Christ. Salvation is not the result of good works; rather, it is by grace through faith alone in Christ. We believe Jesus’ death on the cross is the only payment for our sins that God will accept. We believe that all people who believe in Christ are justified by Christ’s blood and enter into a personal relationship with God without the need for any other mediator. We believe that God adopts into His family all those who repent of their sins and accept by faith the Lord Jesus. (John 3:16; Acts 4:12; Rom. 9:8; 2 Cor. 6:18; Gal. 3:26; Eph. 1:5; 2:5, 8-9).

We believe that the church’s primary purpose is to glorify Christ. We believe the church is made up of all who believe in the Lord Jesus. We believe that the Scriptures command believers to gather in community to devote themselves to worship, fellowship, ministry, outreach, prayer, and the teaching of His words, and to observe the ordinances of baptism and communion. We believe that God has gifted each member of the church to fulfill the purpose of the church. We believe that each church should provide a biblical leadership structure that will provide direction to the church as it fulfills its purpose, as well as accountability, discipline, preservation of unity, and care for the body. 9Isai.51:6; Acts.20:28; Rom.12:5; 1Cor.10:17; 12:12-13; Eph.1:22; 3:21;4:11-16; 1Tim. 3:15).

English
Baptism
We believe that believers are commanded to be baptized in water by immersion as a visual picture of what Christ has done in their lives. We believe that water baptism, which is not required for salvation but rather demonstrates the believer’s obedience, honors the Father who sent His Son, Christ who died for us, and the Holy Spirit who convicted, sealed, and guaranteed our eternal promises (Matt.28:19; John.3:23; Acts.2:38; Eph.4:5.)
Communion/Lord’s Supper
We believe that communion, commonly called the Lord’s Supper, is a physical reminder that Jesus died for our sins and will return again. We believe communion should only be taken by those who have trusted in Christ and are living in obedience to Him. We practice open communion—this means we invite all believers to participate in communion with us, not just those who are part of our church. (Matt. 26:26-29; Luk. 22:14-20; Acts.2:42; 1Cor.10:21; 11:17-24.)
Prayer
We believe that prayer is essential to the growth of every believer. We believe that God hears and answers prayers today, and to glorify himself, he performs miracles and heals. (John.14:13,14; 15:16; 16:23,24; Phil.4:6; Heb.4:16; 1 John.5:14.)
